Abstract
Optimizing the profitability of a business is a challenge that involves considering multiple internal and external variables to organizations. Based on a multi-criteria approach, this study aims to propose a model that allows the ordering of significant factors to optimize the profitability of a clinical laboratory. In methodological terms, this study was conducted in two phases. The first phase sought to develop a brainstorming and cognitive mapping in a clinical laboratory located in Acarau, Ceara. The second phase included multi-criteria analysis, based on the MACBETH methodology, from surveys answered by twenty laboratory managers in Ceara state. By employing the M-MACBETH software to analyze data, satisfactory results were obtained as regards the profitability optimization model of laboratories. Therefore, this study concludes that the computational results were promising.
