Abstract
Physician burnout is reaching epidemic proportions. That is the bad news. The good news is that burnout is easily recognized and there are effective solutions to this common problem.
This chapter will discuss the prevalence of burnout in the healthcare profession, review the causes of burnout, provide the most common signs and symptoms of burnout, and finally, offer active solutions for physician burnout.
