Abstract
Perceptual evaluation of the voice is necessary to identify and characterize a voice disorder, to assess change over time, and to determine need for intervention. In this chapter, we discuss the importance of perceptual evaluation, differences between children’s and adults’ voices, perceptual aspects of voice, and how to conduct a perceptual evaluation of the pediatric voice.
