Abstract
Regional musculoskeletal pain is a common complaint. Knowledge of clinical anatomy and careful clinical evaluation is key to delineating the cause of pain. Despite careful clinical examination, it may be difficult to pinpoint the pathoanatomical basis of pain. The advent of musculoskeletal ultrasound (US) has provided a means of visualizing soft tissues and using dynamic movements to correlate the source of pain. This chapter highlights the typical features and clinical examination of common causes of regional musculoskeletal pain and addresses the role of ultrasound in these conditions.
