Abstract

Jet attachment to the ground it is a major concern to all airports. The engine position, close to the ground, facilitates the formation of recirculation zones close to the nozzle exit. To assess the behavior of these zones three different nozzle geometries are studied in this paper, a double jet, a triple jet and a double jet with chevrons. The numerical study is done using a structured grid with boundary layer. The steady-state analysis is performed using SST turbulence model. The influence of these recirculation zones on the jet development it is studied in this paper.
