Abstract
Continuing the theme of the women who worked as Monuments Men, the Afterword looks at women, art, and crime within a wider context as well as drawing conclusions. Consideration is given to: gendered language used in the reporting of art crimes, the depiction of women in fictional and cinematic presentations about art crimes, breaking the silence about art crimes and women, the significance of familial ties in committing and enabling art crimes, criminal profiling, and how labelling some of the women presented in Females in the Frame as art criminals is problematic. Cataloguing women, art, and crime in one volume brings a greater balance to what has been predominantly male-centric discourse.
