Essentials of Neurosurgical Anesthesia & Critical Care

Abstract

Interventional neuroradiology procedures are performed in pediatric patients for a number of reasons, using fluoroscopy and angiography for catheterization of blood vessels in the identification and treatment of neurological pathology. These procedures are frequently performed as stand-alone cases but are also undertaken in combination with other surgical procedures. This chapter discusses some of the unique aspects of these interventions in children, with a special focus on appropriate management of complications.
