Abstract

The majority of interventional neuroradiology (IN) procedures are emergency indications of life threatening diseaeses. Medical progress is represented best the increased demand of stent-assisted thrombectomies in the recent past. Anesthesiologic expertise is needed for nearly every neuroradiologic intervention, from thrombectomy and aneurysm-coiling after subarachnoid hemorrhage to AVM- or dural fistula embolisation. Basic knowledge of imaging will help to understand these diseases, the special indications for general anesthesia, leading to improvement of cooperation and best therapy for our patients.
