Abstract
Auricular reconstruction is a challenging procedure. Because microtia is relatively uncommon and has a significant learning curve, complications, especially as one gains experience, are inevitable. While a good surgeon learns to treat complications, an excellent surgeon has learned to avoid them. In this chapter, we will highlight the potential complications associated with the use of porous high-density polyethylene framework for ear reconstruction. We will also discuss the management of these complications and how to prevent them.
