Abstract

Lightning phenomena is the electrical discharge from which the electromagnetic radiations of different wavelengths and different frequencies are produced. The electric and magnetic field signatures so produced are the basic physical parameters in understanding the mechanisms of lightning discharges. Two metallic plates, insulated from each other, are used that senses the electromagnetic radiations produced during the discharge process. Unusual lightning events by using this antenna system have been observed and recorded from hilly and subtropical mountainous country Nepal. This is a new innovation in the scientific community. The electric field signatures indicates just like a +CG stroke, but before that, the large opposite-polarity pulse occurs.
