Abstract

In this study, a novel one-dimensional beam finite element rotor-bearing model considering rotor dynamic (RD) fluid and gyroscopic forces is proposed, and modal analysis of a single shaft turbopump (TP) in the whole operating speed range is performed to predict the rotor dynamic properties of the TP. The effects of both RD fluid and gyroscopic forces on the RD properties of the TP were clearly shown on the Campbell diagram, and the damped natural circular frequencies of the TP within the operating speed range were also successfully identified.
