Abstract

Aesthetic surgical interventions play a very important role in the Latin American countries, in North America and in the Arab countries, as compared to German-speaking countries. The ideal waist-to-hip ratio is considered 1:1.4. Before autologous fat grafting is done, it is important to know what idea the patient has, about the expected result and, if necessary, to correct that impression. The suction takes up 600–1000 mL. In order to achieve a properly predictable result, 300–500 mL have to be injected on each side into the subcutaneous layer as well as - cautiously! - the gluteal musculature—mainly in the outer, upper and medial quadrants as well as, if required, in the epi-trochanteric region. The compression garments to be worn during the post-operative treatment should contain suitable cut-out sections for the transplanted areas.
