Abstract
One of the wonderful things about microscopy is that there is something for everyone. Whether you are a hobbyist buying your first investment piece or a lab tech stocking up a lab for students, the options are many! However, so many options can be mind-boggling, especially if this is your first time buying a microscope. In this chapter, I have listed some questions for you to think about, so that you can figure out (or at least narrow down) your needs and wants. Second-hand microscopes can be just as good as new ones, so I have included a list of questions to ask if you are looking at buying a second-hand machine.
