Abstract

This chapter analyzes the theme of “wall surgery,” from the point of view of stakeholders. The problem that strongly emerges, especially from the world of patients and their associations, is that of the excessive length of the waiting list for an operation. Long waiting times have become a symbol of the inefficiency of health services, particularly in hospitals. One of the solutions desired by the association, to overcome these problems, could be the establishment of a “network” of health professionals that represents a system at the forefront of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, with all the benefits for both patients and the healthcare professionals who are part of it, in terms of training, learning, and competence.
