Abstract
In this chapter, we introduce the renormalization group (RG) approach from a numerical perspective. While the analytical RG approach is a powerful tool routinely used to study different phenomena [22, 136, 137], hereafter, we concentrate on its application to numerically attack the many-body quantum problem. To set the stage, we start with the mean-field treatment of the many-body quantum problem and present its application to study the quantum Ising model in transverse field.
