Abstract

This paper reports the integration complexity of a commercial departmental information system within a global clinical information system.

This integration requires multiple interfaces to implement in order to reach a fully computerized process management (billing, scheduling, communication with medical equipments, clinical information exchange with the electronic patient record, product management, audit trail, user authentication.). This integration implementation takes benefit of a component-oriented architecture delivering services and messages, mixing IRE approach and a notification-based middleware. A case illustration is documented in cardiology with the integration of a cardiology information system (CIS).
