Résumé

La chirurgie ophtalmologique relève presque exclusivement de la microchirurgie, c’est-à-dire qu’elle se pratique le plus souvent sous un microscope opératoire lorsqu’elle concerne les structures du globe oculaire à proprement parler ainsi que ses annexes. L’abord de l’orbite ou des paupières pourra se faire en revanche de façon directe. Dans ce cas, les caractéristiques des sutures rejoindront celles traitées dans le domaine de la chirurgie plastique faciale, travaillant sur deux à trois plans selon la nature du plan cutanéo-musculaire. C’est pourquoi, nous choisirons de ne considérer dans ce chapitre que les sutures spécifiques de l’ophtalmologie portant sur le globe et ses annexes.
