Abstract
The term axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) covers both patients who already have radiographic changes in the sacroiliac joints (radiographic sacroiliitis, ankylosing spondylitis [AS]) and patients who do not have such changes; this subgroup is now called nonradiographic axSpA (nr-axSpA).
