Abstract

Broadly speaking, a pragmatic approach to anemia management in patients with CKD should follow a stepwise approach using four steps: (1) Exclude other causes of anemia, (2) Iron management, (3) Erythropoiesis-stimulating agent therapy, (4) Blood transfusions.
