Modeling and Simulating Bodies and Garments

Abstract

This chapter addresses human body modeling techniques and their application fields. After a brief historic background of general deformation methods, they are classified and extended under the following titles: geometric, physically based, anthropometric and anatomic approaches. The chapter ends with a section on the 3D human body scanner systems, that are used both for rapid prototyping and statistical analyses of the human body size variations.
