Reconstructive Surgery of the Rectum, Anus and Perineum

Abstract

This chapter outlines the approach to the difficult laparoscopic colorectal operation where access may be limited because of intra-abdominal pathology or adhesions. Complications and their avoidance are discussed in the current environment of more advanced laparoscopy. The objective of this chapter is to present a current opinion about troubleshooting the difficult laparoscopic case, focusing on minimizing complications and their management should intraoperative problems occur.
