Abstract
After diagnosing overactive bladder (OAB), simple and straightforward treatment options can be employed. These options include both non-pharmacological and pharmacological approaches, which can be used separately or in combination (Figure 5.1). It is reasonable to empirically initiate behavioral modification and pharmacological treatment in patients presenting with OAB symptoms who show no evidence of infection, hematuria, or other physical findings suggestive of known pathologies, reserving more aggressive therapies for patients who do not respond.
