Abstract
This chapter discusses common considerations that arise in the evaluation and treatment of patients with attentional difficulties in an urban hospital clinic. While some cases are straightforward to address, others are more complex and require thoughtful decisions by the clinician regarding diagnostic strategies, practice management, and treatment planning. There is little clinical research to inform best practices in such complex scenarios, so this chapter offers insights from experience in an outpatient psychiatric clinic of a general hospital.
