Gastroparesis

Abstract

The prevalence, incidence, morbidity and mortality of gastroparesis, and health care resource utilization by patients with gastroparesis are covered in this chapter. Chronic gastroparesis has a substantial impact on health care. Accordingly, better treatment of this debilitating condition must represent a priority. Gastroparesis is associated with a greater risk of long-term complications, particularly in the rising diabetic population.
