Abstract
Mast cells trigger allergic and other immune reactions. Details of their signal transduction pathways leading to discharge of cellular granules are given. Control is exerted also by eicosanoids generated by activation of cell phospholipase A2, by cyclic adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and by nitric oxide.
