Research Issues in Dual Diagnosis

Dual Diagnosis

Abstract

The co-occurrence of substance use disorders and other mental disorders is a vast field with many unanswered questions and many opportunities for research. The attempt to develop a systematic approach to research in this field confronts two important levels of complexity—namely the numerous possible substance disorder/mental disorder interrelationships and the sheer number of possible combinations of substance use disorders and other mental disorders.
