Abstract

We present a discussion of the vibrational properties of semiconductor superlattices in terms of matching of bulk waves at interfaces. Qualitative predictions are then compared with the results of actual calculations performed for the physical system Si/Ge. The relevance of our results for structural characterization is discussed.
