Abstract

This chapter presents a basic description of the modes and parameters of detonation of condensed explosives. It contains a review of experimental techniques, analysis of experimental data on detonation pressure, and discussion of detonation modes of single-constituent and mixed explosives. A number of fundamental problems of initiation and development of detonation, temperature of detonation products, etc., that were considered in a recently published monograph [1], are not discussed here.
