Abstract
Anastrepha fruit flies are found in the Neotropical region, from Southern USA to the North of Argentina. They do not have diapause, being multivoltine. There are generalist and specialist species in this genus. The most common species are the generalist A. fraterculus and A. obliqua, which present broad geographic distribution in Brazil.
