Abstract

What is ‘growth retardation’? What is normal growth? What is growth? In order to answer these questions, it is worth rephrasing a sentence of Paul Weiss which neatly summarizes the whole problem: ‘Growth is a word, a term, a notion, covering a variety of diverse and complex phenomena’.
