Abstract
Acute intense noise is a physiological stressor in man and other animals, but the effect of chronic exposure on human health is not clearly understood. To suggest whether chronic exposure to environmental noise produces health effects in humans, an investigation of the physical growth of children from a noise exposed community was conducted. This report describes the investigation into the prenatal growth of children born to mothers exposed to airport noise.
