Ce chapitre est à voir comme un exemple préparant l’étude du bord d’un espace hyperbolique. On définit d’abord diverses distances sur le bord d’un arbre, puis on examine comment les isométries et quasi-isométries de l’arbre agissent sur son bord. Le dernier paragraphe est consacré aux définitions appropriées d’un certain “vocabulaire conforme”.
