Abstract
In an earlier book, Metal Filled Plastics, published in 1961, I discussed the consequences of adding finely divided metals to plastic polymers to create qualities not usually found in the plastic products. The roles of organic polymers in the impregnating and bonding of porous assemblies of metal powders or fibers were also examined. Control of density, increase of electrical conductivity, and decorative effects were obvious characteristics which were emphasized. Commercial products using these properties multiplied and are still being created today.
