Abstract
Networked based acting and thinking requires a new intelligent IT quality standard. Based on a common information-platform, the planning, documentation and quality of patient care management ought to be coordinated. The common information-platform should co-ordinate the treatment of in- and outpatients and must ensure the communication transaction. So far in theory: In practice a lot of questions regarding data security in complex network solutions has to be answered. In addition the demand of the bill GKV-reform 2000, which regulates integrated health services in its § 140, must be considered.
How can such an IT-concept be realised? Laufenberg GmbH & CoKG together with SerCon GmbH developed a software solution called NETSIGHT. This solution is based on the electronic patient record of the Hospital Information System PROSIGHT® and LOTUS NOTES®. These systems are widespread and approved and due to that aspect the investment is ensured and planning reliability is given for the future. Due to the top priority of data security the Groupware System LOTUS NOTES R5 was selected. NETSIGHT is a comprehensive communication-platform, with an integrated Electronic Patient Record. Yet this product connects hospitals and physicians, within the scope of a pilot project of the Bundesknappschaft. The result is an integrated healthcare-platform.abstract.
