Abstract

This case discusses a pharmacokinetic interaction between ritonavir and garlic resulting in abdominal distress. Ritonavir is a cytochrome P450 3A4 and/or P-glycoprotein substrate and garlic is a 3A4 and/or P-glycoprotein inhibitor.
