Abstract

First cast: Start as soon after birth as possible. The child is brought to the procedure room. No anesthetic needed. Allow the infant to feed during the casting process.

The first metatarsal is elevated and the forefoot is supinated to realign the forefoot with the hindfoot and correct the cavus.
