Abstract

This chapter aims to provide a background in anxiety disorder/substance use disorder (SUD) comorbidity and its treatment, with an in-depth focus on social anxiety disorder (SAD) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The chapter covers relevant comorbidity models and describes the complexities of these comorbid conditions, followed by a section devoted to treatment of co-occurring SAD or PTSD and SUD.
