Abstract
Although no single volume could offer a comprehensive treatment of all issues, this volume provides foundation knowledge for social work students who will work directly or indirectly with substance-related problems. This concluding chapter offers a small set of integrative and speculative themes that help unify the content and provide suggests for continued learning. The themes include the increasing importance of technology; the role of social work in addressing substance-related problems in non-specialty settings; and the importance of both micro- and macro-level decision-making.
