Abstract
The performance of an image annotation or retrieval model can be tested and validated only by using an experimental environment represented by a software system. This chapter presents in detail our object-oriented medical annotation software system designed and implemented for gathering and managing the necessary data, providing the means for evaluating the performance of the annotation or retrieval task, for viewing the results and other details.
