  • Chapter
Dental Informatics

Part of the book series: Computers in Health Care ((HI))

Abstract

In spite of the fact that in many countries dental care has reached a high standard, much can still be improved in regard to optimal care for patients. Extensive analyses of dental practice have revealed that the development of an appropriate computer-based workstation could contribute to improved patient care. The main purpose of introducing such a workstation should be to support the dentist in the domains of diagnosis, therapy, and prevention.
