Abstract
The Indian subcontinent represents a conglomeration of people having widely different habits, lifestyles, religious backgrounds, and ethnic group variations. The Hindus, the Moslems, the Christians, and the Parsis are among the predominant religious communities; epidemiologic data in breast cancer reveal interesting variations with a high incidence among the Parsis (population 80,000), who, as a group, are more Westernized than the rest of the population. The Tata Memorial Hospital is the largest comprehensive cancer care center in the country and is the central point of reference for primary treatment, opinions, advice, etc., regarding cancer management in general and breast cancer treatment in Particular.
