Abstract
So far, we have considered some well-known regular structuring concepts like conditionals, loops, procedures etc. There is, however, one device which allows the introduction of almost any statement composition scheme. This device is the goto statement. Its form is: goto L (1) and the effect of its execution is that program execution is continued from the point of the program determined by L. L is called a label. In Pascal, it is a sequence of at most 4 digits. L: is used as a prefix of the statement to which control should be transferred.
