Abstract
Metallic copper and its compounds have been reported to be useful in treating inflammations throughout history. Such uses were recorded in China 1,000 years before similar recordings were made in Egyptian papyri (c.a. 2000 B.C.). These reported uses, although not understood, have persisted throughout history to modern times.
