Abstract

It is not the purpose of this paper to say how medical parasitology should be taught but rather to draw attention to the importance of the subject in its own right and the need to give parasitology more emphasis in the curriculum of medical schools in the tropics. To this end it is essential to maintain the Departments of Parasitology and Medical Entomology in Schools of Tropical Medicine in Europe and America and to ensure the continuity of the disciplines to help train the future teachers and research workers in this field of Tropical Medicine
