Abstract
This papers describes the results of a series of computations that show the general approach developed in the Laboratory for Computational Physics and Fluid Dynamics for solving complex combustion problems. The basis of the approach is to use use specially designed numerical models implemented on high-speed, vector and parallel-processing computers as tools for investigating the details of the behavior of complex physical systems. We have applied this approach to problems in detonations, flames, turbulence, and transition processes.
