Abstract
Many theories exist to explain the etiology of marijuana dependence (1–3). Significant disagreement about the diagnosis and treatment of marijuana dependence (addiction) prevails (4–9), and uncertainty that it is a primary disease that requires medical consideration predominates. Marijuana addiction still remains an often unspeakable, hidden, and provoking subject.
