Abstract

The first nine chapters in this text dealt exclusively with the development and use of the tools required to analyze members subjected to axial and transverse forces, to torques, and to bending moments as well as to combinations of these effects. In all instances, methods were developed to compute the stresses and deformations resulting from a given set of loading conditions.
