Abstract
One can distinguish vertical, horizontal,and oblique asymptotes of plane curves with respect to rectangular coordinates (see Fig. 7.1 a). An oblique asymptote to a graph can be left (if x → –∞), right (if x → ∞), and two-sided if the graph approaches the asymptote for both x → –∞ and x → ∞.
