Abstract

Cardiac surgery principally involves surgery to the coronary blood supply, heart valves, pericardium, or great vessels. This chapter brings together a range of cardiac surgical procedures with the aim of providing information on complications, risks, and consequences of those procedures. For information on associated procedures, refer to the relevant chapter or volume.
