Abstract

Congenital and acquired nonneoplastic disorders of the prostate and seminal vesicles are usually encountered in diagnostic imaging studies. Ultrasonography and MRI are the most frequently used imaging techniques in the diagnosis of these disorders. Nonneoplastic disorders of the prostate include benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostatitis, prostatic abscess, and prostatic cyst. Nonneoplastic disorders of the seminal vesicles include seminal vesicle cyst, vas deferens cyst, Cowper’s duct cyst, seminal vesiculitis, and ejaculatory duct obstruction.
